Be my Friend

Wood and nails / 171 × 25 × 12,5 cm / Novosadski salon, Novi Sad, Serbia / 2009

Created in 2009 at the height of early social media expansion—with platforms like Facebook reshaping interpersonal dynamics—Be My Friend explores the paradox of hyper-connectivity. Rather than fostering genuine human bonds, digital networks frequently reveal a capacity to corrode intimacy and fracture social ties. While addressing this broader critique of platformized socialization, the work directly emerges from a personal experience of disillusionment following the sudden collapse of my own lifelong childhood friendship.
